Robert is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where he received his bachelor’s degree in Risk Management and Insurance in 1987. Shortly after graduation, Robert was a Risk Manager for Austin Consulting Group from 1987 to 1996 where he specialized in the analysis and development of insurance programs for large contractors and car dealerships. He returned to the Rio Grande Valley to become managing partner at McAfee Insurance Agency – a role he has held since 1996. He specializes in the selling of commercial insurance to contractors and fruit/vegetable distributors. Among Robert’s many achievements in the industry, he is also an active member of the Independent Insurance Agents Association and member of the Texas Produce Association. In addition, he happens to be endorsed by the Texas Produce Association for Property and Casualty insurance. Robert is also the Master Agent of the Texas Produce Association Safety Group – a workers’ compensation program through Texas Mutual Insurance Company.
When Robert isn’t busy assisting his clients, he enjoys fishing and golfing with his friends and family. He is also the proud father of two boys, bobby and Ryan and has been happily married to his wife, Rhonda, for 18 years and counting.

Before joining McAfee Insurance Agency in 1999, Richard earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin with a concentration in insurance. Upon his return to the Rio Grande Valley, he started working for Texas State Bank in 1995 where he was promptly promoted to Assistant Vice President. While there, he was responsible for personal and small commercial lending. However, his passion remained in insurance and the family business was the next logical career decision. He’s an accomplished agent who enjoys writing all types of insurance but he quickly developed a specialty and a passion in providing surety expertise to local contractors ranging from trade to general.
Richard is a lifelong resident of the Rio Grande Valley and when he isn’t working, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his wife and son.
